“THE ADORABLE OUTCAST”

AT jyiAJESTIC ON FRIDAY Glimpses of Fiji’s varied scenic beauties make a picturesque background surrounding the strong dramatic and comedy elements in “The Adorable Outcast,” Australasian Films’ screen adaptation of Beatrice Grimshaw s well-known novel to be shown next Friday at the Majestic Theatre. Some of the “shots” reveal magnificent panoramas of land and sea, and also show the Maiden’s Leap, a beautiful waterfall with magnificent cascades falling from a height of eighty feet into the Wai River, and surmounted by trees festooned in vines and creepers and covered with wonderful green fernery. The wonders of nature unfolded in this gripping story are ever-changing, sunrise and sunset transforms some of the scenes into fairylands of delight, and the picture might well be described as a happy combination of drama, comedy, thrills and travelogue.

Graham Cutts, the producer of the famous “Flat” series starring Ivor Xovello, has rejoined Gainsborough studios, where he was originally a director. The new sequel to “The Rat” is now in course of production under the title of The Return of the Rat.” Ivor Novello will again play 1 the title role.
