Leg Broken in Collision Alexander Johnson, aged 28, labourer, of Whiteman’s Valley, received a compound fracture of the right leg when his motor-cyck collided with a car at Silverstream, Wellington, on Saturday. —P.A. Missing Bankrupt Unablo to trace the whereabouts of William Donald, coachbuiider, who recently was made bankrupt, a meeting of his creditors was held at Hamilton this morning in his absence. Only one creditor was present. Ho represented Briscoe and Company to whom bankrupt owed £ll3. Tha official assignee, Air. J. 11. Robertson, said that three months ago bankrupt left Matamata, stating that he was going to a farm at Taranaki. It transpired he had never been to the farm, and his whereabouts were unknown. The meeting adjourned for a week, when bankrupt’s wife is to be asked to attend. Two Girls Drowned • Reed. 1.5 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. May Irvine, aged 17, and Kathaleen Credan, aged 19, were drowned in a dam on the Murruinbidgee River near Lockhart, when the limb of a tree overhanging the water, on which they were sitting, snapped. A man who was with them made repeated efforts to rescue them, but their desperate struggles forced him to let go. The bodies have not been recovered.
