Woodcock, of Te Kuiti. lias been appointed agricultural inspector at Hamilton. Mr. G. W. Wild, who formerly held the post, has been promoted to Invercargill. Mr. and Mrs. H. Gold, of London, left vesterday for Rotorua. Recently they iiad a motor accident in Suva, and .Mr. Gold was forced to spend a few weeks in hospital. He is now almost recovered. Mr. S. A. R. Mair, after 30 years' service as engineer to the Rangitikei County Council, has resigned.. Mr. Mair is recognised as one of the foremost local body engineers in the Dominion. Mr. Stanley S. Turner, a member of the firm of G. J. McCaul and Company, textile and general buyers, of London, will arrive in Auckland by the Rotorua to-morrow morning. He intends to tour New Zealand. Mr. George M. Moir. M.Sc., A.1.C., who left Dunedin a year ago to undertake research work at the Dairy Institute, Reading, England, has won the Pedlar Research Scholarship awarded by the Institute of Chemistry. This scholarship is tenable for a year, and is worth £ 300. Mr. Karl Atkinson, until recently editor of the “New Zealand Pictorial” and a member of its staff since its foundation, was presented with a wallet on Thursday evening by members of the staff- Mr. Atkinson is leaving to take up the position of sales manager at Howies, Limited.
