EXERCISE KEEPS HOLLYWOOD GIRLS FIT AND SLENDER

Keeping fit is a religion in Hollywood. The careers and success of the feminine stars depend on their slim attractiveness, and reducing exercise is part of the regular daily programme. Here is how a few of the most popular leading ladies keep fit and slender: Clara Bow lias built a gymnasium in her back yard with- enough apparatus to keep a heavy-weight champion in condition. She gets in a ten minute workout on each of the whole outfit of pulleys, rowing machines and stationary bicycles every day. Esther Ralston’s home is built around a swimming nool. and every morning at six o’clock the blonde star is paged from her slumbers foi half an hour in the pool. Fortunately says Miss Ralston she enjoys it. Sht would do it whe ther she liked it o not. B e b e Daniel keeps her weigh, down by swimming, as do Mary Pickford and Gloria Swanson. Nancy Carroll and Mary Brian get their exercise in dancing, while Florence Vidor and Evelyn Brent go in for tenuis, and Jean Arthur, Fay Wray and Olga Baklanova take horseback riding seriously.
