BUTTER MARKET FALLING

SIMILAR TREND LAST YEAR A decidedly easier tone in the London market for New Zealand dairy produce has been recorded over the week. Cablegrams under yesterday’s date report even lower levels and a quiet market. It is interesting to remember that it was in the early part of December last year that a downward trend °t the market set in. On December 14. 1927, London cablegrams reported a drop of 10s in one Week, and 20s over the month, to 138 s. A month later the market was very w r eak at 154 s for New Zealand's best grades. The position improved again at the beginning of Kebruary, reaching 162 s on February 2. Merchants report receipt of overseas Cablegrams as follows: Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., from their London principals. Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd.: Butter. 172 s to 1745; cheese, 98s. Mr. William TV Fennell, solicitor, was London principals, \V. Weddel and Co., under date November 30: Butter. Danish 19Ss to 1995, New Zealand unsalted 190 s to 19Ss, salted 172 s to 178 s. market quiet: cheese.
