CONCRETING KING’S DRIVE

ACCESS TO NEW VEHICLE FERRY The concrete work in Jervois Hoad being nearly completed, the City Council last evening decided that the gang should next go on to King’s Drive. Approximately 500 yards of this roadway will be concreted, giving access to the new vehicular ferry wharf, which will be opened early next month. The Harbour Board has already completed the approaches to the ferry wharf. In addition to the paving work being done in Queen Street, the council decided to have the Neuchatel Asphalte Co. lay 930 square yards in Shortland Street, at a cost of £4OO.
