AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Auctioneers report on stock sales held throughout the district during the past week as follows: — The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited:— Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Clevedon, Kaukapakapa, Pukekohe (cattle and pigs), and Papakura. We report satisfactory sales for all classes of store cattle, dairy cows and heifers at late rates. A large entry of pigs at Pukekohe sold at prices fully equal to Westfield quotations, and at Clevedon we disposed of a large enti-y of store wethers and hoggets at values easily in favour of the vendors. Dairy cows and heifers, best £lO to £l4 10s; others, £7 10s to £9 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £4 5s to £7 ss; boner and store cows, £4 10s to £6 15s; bulls, £4 to £l3 10s, according to age, breed and quality; yearling to IS-months heifers, best £5 to £6 15s; others, £3 5s to £4 las; yearling to IS-months steers, £4 10s to £5 15s; t\vo to 25-year steers, £5 17s 6d to £6 17s 6d; three to 3§-year steers, £7 to £8 18s; four to 45-year steers, £9 to £9 17s 6d; grown steers in forward condition, £lO to £ll 15s; store wethers, £1 6s 6d to £1 10s 3d; store hoggets, £1 2s to £1 7s. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited:— During the week we held sales at Westfield, Waiotira, Maungakaramea and Waitakaruru, also a pig sale at Tuakau. There were average yardings, and all classes of dairy and store cattle continue to be in strong demand. Beef is easier. Best dairy cows and heifers made £l2 10s to £ls 10s; second-grade cows and heifers, £9 to £l2; other dairy cows and small heifers, £5 to £8 10s; empty young cows, £4 10s to £6 10s; store and boner cows, £3 to £6 ss; yearling to 18-months old dairy heifers, £6 to £7 15s for best; smaller sorts, £4 10s to £5 15s; other heifers, £4 to £5 os; heavy fat cows and heifers, £8 to £11; lighter cows and heifers, £6 to £7 17s 6d; fat steers, £lO 10s to £l4 10s; grown steers in forward condition, £lO 5s to £ll 15s; four-year-old steers, £9 5s to £lO ss; three to four-year-old steers, £8 to £9 2s 6d; two to three-year-old steers, £6 15s to £7 17s 6d; yearling to IS-months-old steers, £5 5s to £6 15s; best calves, £3 to £4 Is; smaller calves, £2 5s to £2 18s; small calves, £i Is to £2 3s; heavy bulls, £7 10s to £lO 10s; sound young liend bulls, £7 7s to £ls 15s; other bulls, £3 10s to £6 15s. There is no improvement in the price -of pigs.
