CHURCHES OF SCOTLAND
UNION BASIS ARRANGED LONDON, November 21. Scottish church union is practically assured by the decisions of the General Assemblies of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church. By overwhelming majorities these have accepted the basis and plan of union, which the presbyteries in Scotland have been discussing since May. The plan now goes to the presbyteries for final acceptance or rejection. If it is accepted, completion of preliminaries may be expected by May, 1929, and the formal act of union probably in October, 1929, in the presence of the King and Queen.
