POOR SEAMANSHIP BLAMED FOR VESTRIS DISASTER
(Australian and JV.2J Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Wednesday Mr. Dickerson Hoover, presiding at the Department of Commerce inquiry into the loss of the British steamer vestris, declared that w’hile he had not reached a final decision, he believed the Vestris was in good shape and properly equipped when she left Port. He blamed poor seamanship tor the disaster.
