MR. H. E. VAILE MAY BE A CANDIDATE favourable reply received A number of city business men are at present banding together with the object of approaching Mr. H. E. Vaile, of Samuel Vaile and Sons, Ltd., and requesting him to be a candidate next year for the meyoral honours of the City of Auckland. Mr. Vaile has already been upbroached informally but has not given u definite reply. R is understood that, if his consent is given, a strong committee will be forthcoming to further his interests. it will include many well-known city business men. *‘l would not be unwilling to stand for the office of Mayor,” Mr. Vaile told THE SUN this morn%'ng. “|f ;t i s made clear that I a m wanted and I am sure on that Point, I win consent.
