AUCKLAND PRELIMINARY CUP HORSES AT WOODVILLE There are occasions when the Woodville summer meeting is taken advantage of by owners in the Hawke’s Bay district to give their horses a run prior to being sent to Auckland for the big midsummer fixture. This year is no exception, for quite a number of horses are to be given an outing on December 12 and 13. In the principal handicap are the Auckland Cup horses Hoylake, Star God, Catkin, Vertigern, David Garrick and Blimp, while Piuthair and Starboard Light figure in the minor races. Among other entries noted are the G.N. Derby candidates Toxeuma and The Warden.
