Barrie Marschel arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. H. G. n. Mason, M.F., returned from Wellington this morning by the tirst express. The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, returned to Wellington last evening by the Limited. T) r. L. C- Mail, senior medical officer in Apia, Samoa, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Tofua. Mr. F. G. Roussell, traffic superintendent of railways, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. The Rev. E. Nicliolls, pastor at the ponsonby Baptist Church, has been called to the Baptist Church, in tings-Major-General K. Young, C.3J., C.M.G., D. GO.C. New Zealand Forces, arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. 31r. H. R. Young, manager of the Cooperative Coal Company, Westport, returned by the Tofua yesterday after spending a holiday on the Islands. Mr. W. Jess, headmaster of the Avele School, and Mr. It. Morrison, who lias been teaching at the Vaibouli, both arrived in Auckland yesterday afternoon by the Tofua from Samoa. Dr. H. M. O’Connor, who has been resident medical officer at Vavau, Tonga, for the past three and a-half years, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Tofua. Colon*3l R. Tracy-Inglis, director of medical services, left by the Limited last evening for Wellington. He will arrive back In Auckland to-morrow mcrains. The Rev. Hr. E. N. Merrington will take ut the mastership of Knox College, Dunedin, on December 31, according to the decision of the Presbyterian General Assembly to-day. Mr. H. H. Morgan, traffic superintendent of the Auckland Tramways, who has been on a holiday (rip to Australia, returned by the Ulimaroa today. He was accompanied by Mrs. Morgan. Mr. F. J. Shanley, who has been attending tho Rotary Conference in Japan, returned to Auckland to-day by the Ulimaroa. He was accompanied by Mrs. Shanley and Mrs. Ivan Gardiner. Lieutenant J. W. Barry, N.Z.id.C., of Blenheim, has been appointed to replace Captain G. D. Dittmer as adjutant of the First Battalion, Waikato, Regiment, and area officer at Hamilton.
