FIRE AT MAUKU

BLACKSMITH’S SHOP DAMAGED (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Monday. A fire occurred in a blacksmith’s shop owned, by Mr. Larsen at Mauku about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday. The owner had been using the forge until half an hour prior to the outbreak. The lire was observed by Mr. W. D. "West, who owns the adjoinng store. With the assistance of his wife, Mr. West was successful iu checking the flames until further help was forthcoming. The rear wall, constructed of wood, and a portion of the roof were destroyed.
