GRAMMAR SCHOOL GAIETY
DEVONPORT ENTERTAINMENT Pupils of the North Shore Grammar' School entertained a packed -house’ in the Devon port Parish Hall lasi evening, to raise funds for school improvements. A programme of is items reflected credit on the stagmanagement. A troupe of noi dancers met a warm welcome, while a bovs' skit, “Interviews. Parents and Headmaster,” drew great applause. Smaller boys staged “Kinky Kids.” an imitation of a cadet corps, and were well receive!. The Third Form girls had a drill item well prepared, and somo of the same girls had a colourful revue scene with Venetian atmosphere; Miss Zita Hutter. Heather Mair ::r;l Valeria Cunningham had the leading parts and the item went over well The programme included a sword dance bv Alice Stevenson, elocutionary items bv Toyce Crosher: country dances, song and dance, and massed songs by the Third, Fourth and Fifth Form girls under Mrs. Sutherland. The orches'tra, directed by Miss Himmeil and Mr. Thompson, supplied overtures and pro: gramme items. Miss IVann was responsible for the organisation of the drill items. The programme is to be submitted at Taka puna this evening
