21ST BIRTHDAY PARTY

Streamers and gay bolloons decorated the Gas Company’s Social Hall on Saturday evening, when Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Griffith, of Otahuhu, entertained over 100 guests at a party in honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter Emily. A very enjoyable programme of dances was arranged by Mr. Allanson, and the Tui Orchestra played delightful music. A number of musical items were contributed: Mr. Bowling, vocal solo: Mr. Morley, character song; Messrs. R. Green and H. Green, concertina duet; Mr. Long, vocal solo; Mr. Johnson, euphonium solo. Gaiety was added to the function by the holding of a number of novelty competitions, the winners of which were Miss Bradley and Mr. Vital!ei.
