MASQUERADE BALL

GAY DANCE AT ST. HELIERS MUSICAL AND LITERARY SOCIETY About 200 guests were present last evening at the Peerless Theatre at St. Heliers Bay, when the local Musical and Literary Society concluded its season with a fancy dress and masquerade ball. The multi-coloured costumes and decorations, together with the excellent music supplied by Clyde Howley’s Internationals, made the evening most enjoyable. Mr. D. C. Brown spoke briefly on the activities of the society and thanked the officers and members for their efforts in assisting it through a very successful year. . Among those present were; Mrs. Reg. Bowler, black chiffon velvet and ecru lace. Mrs. A. Le Grice, black Chantilly lace frock. Mrs. E. W. James, frock of rose silk jersey cloth. Mrs. Madden, cream lace over pink georgette.
