“HEART TROUBLE” AT EMPIRE
A bright, clever comedy, entitled “Heart Trouble,” will be shown at the Empire Theatre this evening. This is Harry Langdon’s best comedy to date. Here is a young man, son of German |>arents who have prospered in America and who are torn between love and duty. Hans (Hurry) finds one avenue open to him —he must enlist. this despite the fact that he has already planned to elope with the charming daughter of a farmer. Harry’s experiences in his effort to satisfy himself and his parents, as well as the little girl who has won his heart, lead him into all sorts of humorous complications. “Jazz Mad.” a beautiful but pathetic story starring Jean Uersliolt, is the second feature.
Production has just commenced at the Paramount studios of “The Tong the second picture of the year in which Wallace Beery appears in a dramatic role. Florence Vidor is playiftg the contrasting part of a concert singer under the direction of William Wellman, the young Paramount director who was responsible for the production of the air epic. “Wings.”
Albert Gran, a brilliant character actor, who came into prominence for his role of “Papa Bool” in “Seventh Heaven,” gives a great performance in the Fox film, ‘‘The Farmer's Daughter.” He almost steps out of character one might say, in his portrayal of an American man of business and wealth, hut every detail that characterises the artist is there in his every move and every bit of business. Miss Marjorie has the leading role in the production.
