“Vamping Venus.” the eomedv whteh will be shown at the Britannia Theatre this evening, opens in the xw York of to-day and jumps back tn ancient Greece, taking the characters in the modern sequences and showing them as mortals and immortals of ihL olden days. lne Charlie Murray, who plavs a X'ew York politician, becomes the political dictator of Greece. 1 Louise Fazenda, who plays hi. nagsing wife, is Circe, the enchantress in the Grecian scenes. “The Wise Wife.” which is the second attraction this evening, is a merrv comedy of a wife who impersonated a flapper in order to win back her husband. Phyllis Haver has the leading role. A recent addition to the cast of “The Wolf of Wall Street.” the next George Bancroft starring picture for Para mount, is the Russian featured player Baclanova. Baclanova played in the lately completed Bancroft picture, “The Docks of New York.” and she is now on location with Jack Holt company filming “Avalanche” for Paramount "
