FAITHFUL SERVANT
TRIBUTE TO TREASURER ADVICE FROM MODERATOR High tribute was paid to the retiring treasurer, the Rev. W. J. Comrie, by General Assembly to-day, and he was presented with a cheque. “We were born on the same day and in the same year, and we are both retiring,” said the moderator, Professor Hewitson, in his address to Mr. Comrie, who was commended as a “spiritual man as well as an accountant.” He had been a faithful servant to the Church, and he had been earnest afid evangelical as well. Recently, said the moderator, he had been asked by Sir George Fenwick what he intended to do when he retired. He intended to do three things, keep- out of the hands of the policemen, the undertaker and the devil. This advice he would give to Mr. Comrie. Mr. Comrie, replying, said he realised that he had failed in many respects. He thanked Assembly for its remembrance. Assembly rose and acclaimed the re-, tirinsf treasurer.
