(Australian and N.Z Press Association) (United Service) OTTAWA, Wednesday. The Minister of National Revenue, Mr. W. D. Euler, announced on Wednesday that after February 1, goods entering Canada under British preferential rates must be 50 per cent. Empire materials and labour. The present percentage required is 25. By this change it is hoped to stimulate production within the Empire. Corresponding provision is made in regard to imports under the Intermediate tariff and under special treaties and conventions.
