PERSONAL. —Mr. F. G. Mabb has been appointed chief officer of the Kairanga. relieving Mr. G. W. Godfrey, who will await instructions. MrT C. Sharpe, chief officer of the Maunganui, has signed off the vessel and is standing by at Wellington. Mr. J. McNeil, late third officer of the Waitemata, is on holidays at Wellington. Mr. R. D. Stewart, third officer of the Kaimai, is leaving the vessel to-day and will await orders. LORNASTON FROM NAURU. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, have received advice that the steamer Lornaston was dispatched from Nauru Island for Auckland on November 21. The vessel has 8,200 tons of phosphates, all for Auckland. She is due on December 2. ULIMAROA FOR AUCKLAND. With passengers, mail and cargo for Auckland the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa is to leave Sydney at mid-day to-day. She is due next Tuesday. PORT DUNEDIN AT LONDON Advice received by the Commonwealth aiid Doniinion Line states the Port Dunedin reached London from New Zealand last -Sunday. She was dispatched from Wellington on October 13. WOOLGAR SAILED. The Australian steamer Woolgar sailed for Waikokopu and Napier yesterday afternoon to complete unloading hardwood from Bunbur y. THE GOLDEN CLOUD.—The Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Company's steamer Golden Cloud is scheduled to reach Auckland from Los Angeles next Tuesday. She has case oil, lumber and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Timaru. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, are the local agents. KALINGO WITH TIMBER. -- Advice has been received that the Lamb steamer Kalingo left Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, on Monday night with timber for Wellington and Wanganui. She is due at the capital on Sunday. The Kalingo, which is in command of Captain Turner, will he the first Lamb steamer to visit W ellington for about three years. PORT WELLINGTON TO LOAD.— The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Wellington, which is unloading general merchandise from London at Prince's Wharf, is to sail on Monday evening for Wellington and New Plymouth, to complete discharge. Afterwards the vessel will load in the South for her homeward voyage, and later she will return to Auckland, to continue loading for New York, Boston, Halifax, and London. SCOPAS WITH PETROL. The Shell Oil Company s tanker Scopas arrived in the stream at Wellington shortly after 5 o clock on Wednesday morning with a cargo of petrol from Singapore. The Scopas sailed from Singapore on October 28 and experienced fine weather on the voyage. Captain H. B. Meyer is master, and his officers are: Chief, Mr. *l. G Hartogh; second, Mr. F. Eden; third Mr'. A. Speenhof; chief engineer, Mr. A. Bor" second, Mr. Van Hassalt; third, Mr. s! Bertus. The crew comprises 39 Chinese. TOFUA LEAVES SUVA.—Cable advice received by the locad office of the Union Company states that the Island passenger steamer Toiua left Suva at 5 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Monday next. TURAKINA ARRIVES.—To complete loading lor America, London, and West Coast ports of the L nited Kingdom, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s st#amer Turakina arrived in the stream at Auckland at half-past five this morning from Xapier, and berthed later at Queen’s Wharf. On November 29. she sails for New York, Halifax, London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. PORT AUCKLAND AT AUCKLAND. —At seven o’clock this morning the Commonwealth and Dominion Linesteamer Port Auckland arrived in the stream at Auckland from New Plymouth and later went alongside Prince’s Wharf to continue loading for Home. Messrs Heather, Roberton, the local agents advise that the vessel is to be dispatched again on Monday for Wellington and \V anganui, to complete. SOMERSET DUE TO-NIGHT.-Due at Auckland at six o’clock this evening, according to her radio report received earlier this week, the Federal Steam Navigation Company’s steamer Somerset will berth at Queen’s Wharf to discharge the local portion of her cargo from Liver+She Puts out the remainder at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Zealand Shipping Company is acting as the local agents.
