RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE WISE WIFE” A domestic comedy of a wise husband and a much wiser wife will be shown at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres this evening. Phyllis Haver, in the title role, first is seen as Mrs. Blaisdell, the domestic and “settled down” wife of John Blaisdell, played by Tom Moore. Along comes Jacqueline Logan, in the portrayal of a snappy, up-to-date twentieth century flapper from the sunny South, and vamps Blaisdell. Then Miss Haver gets busy and takes on flapper ways herself, shortens her -dresses and improves her appearance. Before many close-ups have rolled by she has won her husband back again. She appointed the flapper her husband believed he loved to be his guardian, and then every angle of the charming love triangle began to sizzle and simmer. “The Butter and Egg Man,” one of the best comedies by Jack Mulhall, will also be shown.
