(From Yesterday's Late Edition)

OPERATED AMONG WHARF LABOURERS “ONLY IN SMALL WAY” Described by Chief-Detective Hammond as a silver bookie, Leslie George Donaldson, aged 29, was fined £2O at the Police Court yesterday. Mr. F. D. Mclvor entered a plea of guilty for Donaldson on the charge of carrying on business as a bookmaker. He mentioned that he was only working in a small way. Mr. Hammond, however, reminded the magistrate that Donaldson had been previously fined for a similar offence. Donaldson had carried on his trade among the waterside workers.
