UNIVERSITY EXAMS
TO BEGIN ON DECEMBER 4 1,032 CANDIDATES FROM AUCKLAND The examinations throughout New Zealand of students sitting for Matriculation, Medical, Dental, Engineering; and Accountants’ Preliminary, Preliminary Science for C.O.P. in Dental Surgery, University Junior Scholarships and Intermediate Mu». 8., will begin on Tuesday, December 4, and will last, for all except the scholarships, until December 13. The scholarships will end on December 14. The main centre for Auckland is the University College. There 270 boys and girls will sit for matriculation, 88 for accountants’ preliminary, 41 foi' scholarships and four for the intermediate mus. B. Attached to the University College are the following sub-centres: .Scots Hall, 344 boys; Takapuna grammar School, 16 boys and 3 0 girls'; Auckland Girls’ Grammar School,. 96; Epsom Girls’ Grammar School, 77; Sacred Heart College, 29King’s -College, 51. Seots Hall will be used for the examination of candidates from the Auckland Grammar School and the Mount Albert Grammar School only, and all candidates for scholarships will be examined at the University College. The numbers entering for scholarships are: Auckland Grammar School, 19; Mount Albert Grammar School, 5; Auckland Girls’ Grammar School, 5; Epsom Girls’ Grammar School, 6; Sacred Heart College 4King’s College, 2. The total number ot candidates in all subjects sitting at the Auckland centre is 1,032.
