THE general tone ot' the market is decidedly brighter, and manv sales have been recorded. Union Bank shares have advanced Is since yesterday, making the market £.15 8s 6d. Wilsons Portland Cement have steady buyers at 40s 9d. no shares offering.
tiiiok shares continue to Attract much attention and considerable business is being reported. Auctioneering shares are still in demand. A pref. sold this morning at 17s 6d. National Mortgage and River Plate have many buyers, shares unoffered. The coal section is weak, few buyers appearing. Renown (ord.) has a steady buyer at 13s: seller. 16s 3d: while Taupiri (pref.) have buyers at 2 3s; no sellers. Brewery shares are in demand. Innea and Co., both ord. and pref. issues, are keenly watched. buyers quoting 19s and 19s 6d respectively. New Zealand Breweries are fluctuating considerably, buyers quoting 565, sellers 58s. ElMtrolytic Zinc <ord.) sold this morning at 355, leaving a further buyer at 34s 9d, while the preference j issue are quoted at 36s 3d, 37s 6d. Hill | and Plummer have persistent buyers*
