BYNG WILL WAGE WAR ON LONDON NIGHT CLUBS
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Tuesday. Viscount Byng’s first act as Commissioner of Metropolitan Police has been to declare war on London night clubs. The “Daily Express” say's it understands he expressed his amazement at the looseness prevailing among them. It Is significant that many night clubs where drinking and gambling used to be continued until daybreak have already been suddenly closed.
