PUGNACIOUS FIREMEN
TO COOL DOWN IN GAOL Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. As a sequel to a disturbance in Lyttelton on Saturday, four firemen appeared in the Christchurch Police Court yesterday. For assaulting a constable, Philip Hock, aged 21, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. For obstructing the police, William Reylands, aged 23, received three months imprisonment. For fighting with a person unknown, resisting arrest and assaulting a constable, John Henry Harris, aged 25, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. For assaulting a constable, John James Porter, also a fireman, will spend three months in gaol. All sentences were with hard labour.
