to fight McAllister
AUCKLANDER’S MATCH AT WELLINGTON FRANK TAYLOR’S CHANCES Frank Taylor, the brilliant little Auckland boxer, has been offered « match with Billy McAllister, bantamweight champion of Australia, at Wellington, on December 10, and he has wired his acceptance. Johnny Leckie, feather-weight champion of New Zealand, was booked to meet McAllister, but injured his hand and will be out of the game for some time. It speaks highly of Taylor that he should be selected to fill the breech, as McAllister is one of the best of the smaller men that Australia has produced. Taylor proved that he is equal to the best fly-weights - -in Australia when he fought Teddy Green, Australian flyweight champion, the Aucklander being unlucky to lose the decision. It will be interesting therefore to see hon he fares against such a high-class performer as McAllister. Taylor’s Auckland connections hold the opinion that he will be very close when the decision is given.
