At the wool sales, 10,561 bales were offered, of which 6,094 were Australian and 3,151 New Zealand. There was an excellent selection of greasy Merinos suitable for all sections, and a large offering of slipes, with a small supply of other sorts. Keen competition was the order, and the opening rates were maintained. New Zealand; Creasy Kapiti, 17Jd, top price, 15d average. WHEAT Cargoes are firm, thanks to the sustained Indian demand. Australians generally are 3d to 6d dearer. By two unnamed ships to Calcutta, DecemborJanuary shipments, 45s 3d: December guaranteed. 45s 6d. Parcels are in moderate request at an advance of 3d. Liverpool futures: December delivery, 9s 33d per cental: March, 9s 42d; May, 9s 43d. LOW POTATO PRICE Reed. 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. ! The potato market is the lowest for i years. Potatoes are selling at 15s a ton | as stock feed. The normal price at this period is £4 10s.
