“PLAYING STRAIGHT” IS AUTHENTIC Great care was taken in making “Playing Straight,” which will shortly be released in New Zealand, to ensure that it would bring ..o the screen an actual picture of college life. Occidental College, at Eagle Rock, near Hollywood, was used as a location. The building, campus, athletic field, and equipment furnish settings for the action. The faculty and students cooperated in creating the atmosphere, and 20 of its collegiate athletes appear in many of the scenes. Every one of the extras is either a college or university graduate. Among the schools represented are Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Princeton, Brown, Columbia. University of Pennsylvania, niversity of Michigan, University of Washington, and the University of Vancouver. In addition to atmospheric details, there is a cast of favourites, including Bobby Agnew, Pauline Gar on, Ben Turpin, Rex Lease, and Churchill Ross. Master Pictures will release.
