MOUNT WELLINGTON ROAD BOARD

At last evening’s meeting of the Mount Wellington Road Board, by-laws were confirmed regarding the specification of parts of the town board district as brick areas. A revised time-table of buses using the Mount Wellington highway, submitted by the Passenger Transport Company, met with the approval of the board. The Post and Telegraph Department again reminded the board of the danger to the telephone service caused by overhanging trees along the highway, and advised the board that it would be held responsible for the cost of any necessary repairs. The question of felling the bluegum trees, adjacent to the railway deviation, was left in the hands of the chairman and clerk to arrange. The clerk advised that the general account was overdrawn by about £BOO.
