FIRE DESTROYS COTTAGE

FAMILY ESCAPE IN NIGHT ATTIRE LAMP CAUSES OUTBREAK A four-roomed cottage, owned and occupied by Mrs. Hall, in Harding Avenue, Mount Wellington, was totally destroyed by fire at 2 a.m. yesterday. Mrs. Hall was attending to one ot the children, when, in turning round, she knocked over a kerosene lamp and the building was soon a mass of flames. Mrs. Hall and her two children escaped in their night attii'e. None of the furniture or effects were saved.
