LINDRUM IN ENGLAND
PLAYS GOOD BILLIARDS (Australian and A'.Z Press Association) Reed. 1 p.m. LONDON, Monday. Lindrum, the Australian billiard player, on his first appearance created a favourable impression. Inman was hopelessly outclassed in to-day’s play, scoring 555 against Lindrum’s 1,499. Critics note that Lindrum plays the top-of-the-table game in the approved English style. Nevertheless, his breaks would have been higher on several occasion had he adopted the in-off game. His desire to create a favourable impression was obvious from the outset, though this often proved his undoing. He tried to score faster than the Englishman. Although lie succeeded, most of his breakdowns came of ridiculously easy strokes. To-night he was unfortunate. The loss of the white drove him to the red ball, with which he made the limit break of 75.
