Serious Tribal Fighting on Indian N.W. Frontier

Reed. 9.40 a.m. CAPETOWN, Monday. Reports from the Indian North-West frontier confirm the news of serious tribal disturbances on the DakkaJalalabad Road, resulting in a suspension of traffic between India and Kabul.

The Mohamand, Kliugirani and Shin«vari tribes are involved in the fightng, and probably Afghan troops will ie called on to restore order. The Ghilzai tribe caravan was at-

tacked by assailants, who were driven off. King Amanullah’s reform programme is generally popular, but is not welcomed by a few clans, who may have caused the trouble. News of Wazlristan shows that a section of the Mahsuds dislocated the traffic on the Razmak Road, and kidnapped two British subjects. Air Force operations are being used against the tribesmen.
