TAKE A MOTOR-CAR

TRAVELLERS TO AUSTRALIA AUCKLANDER’S IMPRESSIONS “If you go to Sydney, take a motorcar with you or buy one when you get there.” That is the advice of Mr. Walter M. Neumegen, who returned by the Marama to-day after spending five months in Victoria and New South Wales. Mr. Neumegen went on a health tour, and declares that he has returned feeling five years younger. While in Australia Mr. Neumegen did a good deal of motoring, and he says that during the last five years the Australian roadte have improved wonderfully. He was impressed by the control of the traffic in Sydney, but Melbourne left much to be desired. A good deal of concreting has been done both in New South Wales and in Victoria, but bitumen seems to be the favourite material for road making. Mr. Neumegen spoke of the amazing building activity in Sydney, and is of opinion that the city has over-built, if anything.
