AUCKLAND WOOL SALE TOTAL OFFERING OF 21,700 BALES The catalogue for the first Auckland sale of the 1928-29 wool selling season closed this morning with the aggregate offering 1.620 bales below‘the record figures of last year, but little short of 3.000 bales above the figures for the opening sale of the 1926-27 season. The total catalogue comprises 21.700 bales, made up as follow’, the brokers being given in the order of sale: Abraham and Williams, 3,350 bales. Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co.. 3,500 bales. New’ Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co.. 5,000 bales. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the North Auckland Farmers’. 7,200 bales. The sale opens in the concert chamber of the Town Hall on Monday evening next. The buyers are expected to arrive on Sunday morning. BIG PROPERTY DEAL CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Another large property deal, stated to involve the sum of £30,000, is reported in Christchurch, where the Methodist Church authorities have bought Rhodes Buildings, at the corner of Hereford and Manchester Streets. Part of the premises w-’ill be used as church offices. The Manchester Street frontage may be remodelled and converted into shops and offices.
