WEEK-END MATCHES The golf season was closed at several clubs yesterday, with mixed foursomes. Results: Auckland. Mixed foursomes: Ninety-four took part in the competition, which was won by Miss Henderson and H. Henderson, who returned a net medal score of 72. After the president, Mr. P. H. Upton, had entertained players and visitors at afternoon tea, prizes won during the season were presented by Mrs. Upton. Scores.—Miss Henderson and H. 1-lenderson, 90, 18—72; R. F. Johnston and Airs. The best score of the day was that of Mias Robson and K. S. Western who returned a card of 3 up on bogey to bo followed by Mrs. Ranister and C. Robinson, who were 2 up. At the close of the match the president of the club, Mr. G. L. Taylor, presented the prizes won during the winter season. The tinal of the club championship was completed when J. Hockin beat JS Morpeth by 4 and 2 over 36 holes. Tht former, by playing steady golf, established a lead of 5 up over the first IS holes, and continuing to play well in the second round thoroughly deserved victory. Members of the Maungakiekie Golf Club will begin the summer competition at 1 p.m. on Saturday next with the first round of a medal handicap for the Wiseman Cup. This is to be a 72holcs handicap, IS holes to be played on four consecutive Saturdays. Lntrie.close on Wednesday. Auckland Ladies.—A medal match . will bo played on Tuesday. The dosI ing day of the season will be held next ; Pridav. Medal foursomes will be played in the morning, seniors to i partner juniors. Players are to arrange their partners and opponents. The annual general meeting will be held in the afternoon and will be followed by a special general meeting, after which the presentation of prizes will take place. *
