ENGLISH TEST TEAM
“PLUM” WARNER’S VIEWS MEN FOR BRISBANE GAME (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Received Noon. LONDON, Sunday. Discussing the Marylebone team, to play Australia in the first cricket test at Brisbane, starting on December 1, Mr. P. F. Warner, in the “Morning Post,” says; “At least one pre-eminent batsman will be omitted should White, Freeman and Duckworth play. There will be something of a tail, because the final batting men would be Tate, Larwood and the three mentioned. “Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hammond, Hendren, Jardine and Chapman are certainties. “Ames, instead of Duckworth, would strengthen the tail. “An imaginary eleven does not place Mead and Tyldesley. There is a possibility of a bowler being omitted, entrusting the attack to Tate, Larwood, White and Hammond. In any case, Brisbane is a good place to win the toss.”
