MURDERER TO DIE

SLEW ELDERLY COUPLE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Friday. William Conlin was to-day sentenced to death for the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby at Old Thornaby Green, Yorkshire, in September, whose bodies were found buried in the ground. The bodies of an elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kirby, of Old Thornaby Green, which had been buried In a shallow hole, were found by Mrs. Stead, of Norton, near Stockon-on-Tees, while she was seeking some soil for her plants. Kirby indicated that both were buried cerning the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby indicated hat both were buried alive while they were insensible, and that death had occurred eight to 20 hours prior to their exhumation. Conlin is a grandson of Mrs. Kirby.
