RADIO-CABLE MERGER
BILL IN THE COMMONS (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON. Friday. A short Machinery Bill has been circulated in the House of Commons, sanctioning as from April 1 last the sale of the Pacific ind West Indies Imperial cables to the Communications Company, in terms of the Imperial Wireless Conference’s recommendation. As far as Britain is concerned, the capital purchase sum shall be paid to the Treasury. The company also pays annuities in repayment of the Pacific cable loan. When the undertakings are taken over, the Pacific Cable Board shall be dissolved on a day fixed by Order-in Council.
