Hurley Held Up
Exasperating Delay
Persians Arrest Plane
(United P.A.. — By Telegraph Copyright) (United Service) Received Noon. BUNDER ABBASI, Friday. CAPTAIN FRANK HURLEY, who is attempting a record fast flight from Australia to England, is still awaiting a permit to release his plane from arrest, and allow him to depart. Local officials are fearful that the high authority will not act without orders from Teheran.
This ridiculous position is causing exasperating delays. Since the expiration of the treaty, British prestige is diminishing, and all the British residents are now subject
to Persian law. A state of false security exists. Moscow has secured important trade concessions, and a direct aerial service between Teheran and Moscow.
