ST. PATRICK’S FAIR
SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL Variety and entertainment marked the festivities at St. Patrick's Fair, which opened in the Town Hall Concert Chamber last evening. The fair, which is being held again this evening and every evening next week, , * in aid of the # funds being raised forj* reduction of large debts on St Fa * rick’s School and the Grey Lynn C& vent School. Judging by the »ncce» achieved last evening this oW®* 1 should be achieved. Last evening the concert c “ al ® s was crowded and good business reported. Stalls were well particularly with articles suitaM® Christmas gifts, and there was K demand. _ The Magpies Costume Comedy pany provided an enjoyable enteruuo ment with an appropriate and ingly varied programme. They appear every evening. A number of competitions ha*® ioC . arranged, including a speed champ* ship for Auckland typistes, a | show, a fancy-dress parade for i dren, and a poster cabaret will also be held in the Hall this evening. . «f.
