Round the Churches
To-morrow the Edendale Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 40th Sunday ,School anniversary. The services will be conducted by the Rev. J. A. Thomson in the morning, the Rev. F. A. Thomson in the afternoon, and the minister, the Rev. W. Gilmour, in the evening. * * * Canon Percival James will preach at the morning service at St. Mary’s Cathedral and in the evening the speaker will be the Rev. W. J. Jillings. An organ recital will be given after evensong. * * * Tl>e preacher at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s will be the Rev. Charles Chandler. and at 7 p.m. Canon Grant Cowen. Tlio Associated Churches of Christ will hold services at Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road, Onehunga. Richmond, Devonport, Avondale. Pukekohe, Mount Albert and Point Chevalier. At Ponsonby Road and at Richmond Sunday School anniversaries will be celebrated. Pastor H. A. G. Clark will begin his ministry at Dominion Road and will be publicly welcomed on Tuesday. * * * The Sunday School anniversary will be celebrated at the Methodist Central Mission. At 2.45 p.m. the Rev. E. Nieholls w T ill speak and at 7 p.m. Mr. J. O. Sanders will preach. * * * Mrs. Harris-Roberts will give an address at 7 p.m. at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church. Other meetings will be held on Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday. * * * The annual combined meeting of the Y.W.C.A. and the Y.M.C.A. will be held at the Y.M.C.A. buildings on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. R. H. KnowlesKempton will speak. The First Church of Christ. Scientist, j will hold services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The annual thanksgiving service will be held on Monday in church hall. The Rev. Arthur Mitchell will preach at H a.m. at St. John’s Methodist Church. At 7 p.m. the Rev. N. P. Larsen will preach. Tlio Rev. A. S. Wilson will conduct services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Grange Road Baptist Church. The evening service at the Progressive Spiritualists’ Church will be conducted by Mrs. Hudson. An open circle will be held on Wednesday even in ** The Rev. J. Pattison will preach at both morning and evening services at tho Soraervd 1 Presbyterian Church.
At 7 p.m. at the Kohimnrama Presbyterian Church Mr. R. E. Dowle will speak. * =* * The International Bible Students* Association will hold services in the Masonic Hall at 3.15 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. * * * The annuoi meeting the British and Foreign Bible Society Auckland Auxiliary will be held in St. Sepulchre’s Parish Hall on Tuesday evening.
