STEER RIDING

GRAND JUBILEE SHOW ENTRIES CLOSE TO-DAY The first exhibition in Auckland of the exciting sport of steer riding will be given at the Epsom Show Grounds on November 23 and 24, when the Grand Jubilee Show will spread its wealth of stock, produce and entertainment. Entries for all classes of competition, including the North Island Championship for cattle, sheep and pige close to-day at 8.30 p.m. with the secretary. Mr. W. F. O’Donnell, 41 Albert Street, from whom schedules may be obtained. The most attractive ring programme ever seen in Auckland has been arranged. Besides the hunting and other equestrian sports there will be a display by the Mounted Rifles. Attempts will be made to break the New Zealand record high jumps. Wood-chopping competitions will be also held. The kennel club’s show of the dog aristocrats will be held in conjunction with the big exhibition, which is under the control of the Auckland Agricultural and Postoral Association.
