Obituary

MR. D. E. GALLIE The death of Mr. Donald Elder Gallie occurred at his residence. Grey Street, Waihi, on Tuesday, at the age of 78 years. He had resided in Waihi for over 30 years, during which time he had been engaged in mining and farming. Born in Inverness. Scotland, Mr. Gallie came to New Zealand with his parents when he was only 14 years old, and for many years resided in Dunedin. He was in Gi° borne for several years, and in i»94 came to Waihi, where he had resided up to the time of his death. He was particularly fond of his national music, and fox' many years Donald and his bagpipes were features of every local function. In his younger days Mr. Gallie was also a fine dancer, and throughout his life enjoyed nothing better than to discuss, or watch. Highland dancing. He is survived by a widow and one son. Donald.
