Vaccine from Snakes May Cure Epileptics
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association)
Received 9.5 a.m. CAPETOWN, Wednesday. The director of the famous Port Elizabeth Snake Park, Mr. Fitzsimmons, has perfected a vaccine from snake venoms, which he claims is an infallible cure for epilepsy. Its efficacy is stated to have been proved by several doctors. Working on the theory that an epileptic Canadian backwoodsman years
ago recovered after being bitten by a rattlesnake, Mr. Fitzsimmons analysed many varieties of venoms, exerting pathological effects on the nervous and vascular system. A local epileptic has not suffered a seizure since he was inoculated 21 months ago. Other cases throughout the country have been cured. It is claimed that the vaccine exercised remarkable rejuvenating effects on the nerves, blood, and muscles.
