EVERYBODY’S
“THE LAST COMMAND" When a woman consents to appoint another woman the caretaker of her own husband, so to speak, is she a wise wife, or is the husband a dumb-bell? This is the problem provoked by the entertaining- -story of the new de 'Mille picture, ‘ The Wise Wife,” featuring Phyllis Haver, Tom Moore, Jacqueline Logan and Joseph Striker, which will be shown at the Everybody’s Theatre this evening. Mrs. Blaisdell, a society woman, yet a home-loving wife, is devotedly attached to her husband, whose love for her is waning. There comes a young woman visitor from the South, a charming flapper, and Blaisdell is instantly attracted toward her. He spends much time in her company and one day he kisses her. This is witnessed by several acquaintances and the dire news is carried to the wife, but it fails to shatter her affection for the erring husband. The wife then decides heroically to test her husband’s love for the flapper. This brings about developments of a highly diverting nature, and after numerous complications all ends happily. The picture is packed with drama and laughs. “The Last Command’’ is the second attraction. This is a powerful Emil Jannings drama in which the famous actor portrays an ex-Czarist officer, both in his former glory and as a poor broken-down actor in Hollywood.
