CARPENTER IMPRISONED MAN WITH BAD RECORD : A carpenter who has a weakness for other people’s clocks, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment at the Police Cc_;rt this morning. William James Hart, aged 49. appeared for sentence, having v ' cled guilty to the theft of two clocks, one from All Saints’ Church and the other from St. Paul’s, and a wireless set. Chief-Detective Hammond described i Hart’s record as a bad one, and the Probation Officer, Mr. W. J. Campbell, said that he was out on licence, which ; did not expire until January.
