SEAMEN LOST IN WAR
MONUMENT TO BRAVE DEAD QUEEN MARY TO UNVEIL IT (United Service) LONDON, Tuesday. Queen Mary will for the first time unveil a war memorial, probably on December 12. This is now being erected on Tower Hill. London, ton behalf of the Governments of the Empire. in memory ofi the 12,086 officers and men of the merchant navy and fishing fleets who fell in the war and who have no grave but the sea. It is to be an imposing monument, consisting of a vaulted stone corridor, 64ft long, with three bays. In these the names of the dead are to be inscribed on bronze panels under the of their ships. FALLEN JOURNALISTS MEMORIAL UNVEILED British Official Wireless RUGBY, Monday. A memorial to the journalists who fell in the Great War was unveiled at the Institute of Journalists at the week-end by Major-General Sir Fabian Ware, permanent vice-presideut of the Imperial War Graves Commission, who was formerly editor of the “Morning Post.” More than 2,500 journalists joined the forces, and 500 of them were killed. The memorial bears an inscription chosen by Mr. Rttdyard Kip ling, which reads: "We have served our day.”
