HIS MAJESTY’S
“HIT THE DECK” Tho all-too-short season of the J. C. Williamson, Ltd., Musical Comedy Company, terminates at His Majesty’s to-night, and judging by the success which followed the presentation last night of “Hit the Deck,” the principals are in for a wonderful farewell. This musical romance of the Navy has a charm all its own, delightful vocal numbers being interspersed with bright dancing and rich humour, the sallies of the Jack Tars keeping the audience up to concert pitch through°UThe charming personality of Miss Annie Croft pervades the whole production, and to her Aucklanders have expressed in no uncertain manner their affection. Miss May Beatty and her “Hallelujah” continues to be the musical hit of the piece, for as Magnolia she carries a good deal of the humour on her shoulders. Tho quarterdeck and scenes in the Chines© mandarin’s courtyard are exceedingly well done. To-night the company takes its tarewell, but it is hoped that another visit will not be far off.
